In this video I wanted to test the insta360 one x2 camera the first time while using my MRS Microraft packraft on the Lake Shikotsu. More videos to come...
Lake Shikotsu and the nearby Lake Toyako are part of the beautiful Shikotsu-Toya National Park. The lakes were formed from collapses in the earth after volcanic activity. The packraft can be launched easily from the river beside Shikotsu Kohan, the small, touristy town with a visitor center and a small number of lodging long the lake's western shores. Visitors can also rent boats, bicycles and even scuba gear to enjoy the natural surroundings. Other activities are joining a sightseeing cruise of the lake in glass bottomed boats or speed boats late April to early November.
I took the bus from Shin-Chitose Airport which needs 1 hour and costs 1050 Yen. The busses run every 2-3 hours, so ensure that you check the last bus going from the lake to the city.
