Daikokuyu Oshiage Onsen
INTRO
Oshiage onsen is the closest natural onsen (hot spring) to the Tokyo Skytree. The first picture above shows the layout of the Onsen and the bigger area, placed on the left side of the facility/counter. The men’s and women’s sides are swapped frequently to allow everyone to experience the bigger terrace, outside bath and steam sauna). The 2nd picture above shows the schedule (find the latest program here). To the left you can see a zoomed-in example of the schedule. In this example you can see that the 6th (of October 2020) was a Tuesday. Tuesday is closed. The 7th (same like the 5th and 9th) has a green background. This means male can enter the bigger area. The pink on the 8th means female can enter the bigger area (like the 12th and the 14th). The bigger area has a bigger terrace and from it the view of the Sky Tree, an outside bath without a ceiling, outside shower, and a steam sauna. Hence it is definitely the more enjoyable area to experience.
The water used in Daikokuyu onsen is coming from a well which was discovered 70 years ago. After a thorough analysis its properties have been recognized as an Onsen (natural hot spring).
The following descriptions about e.g. amount and size of the various baths and sauna is therefore related to the bigger area!
